Why our linen is actually different.
Most linen sold today is blended, or finished with chemical softeners that wash out. We make ours the slow way, because the process is what makes the fabric.
Slow-grown flax
Our flax grows for around 100 days in Normandy, where the damp coastal air draws out long, even fibres.
Pulled, not cut
The whole plant comes out of the ground, root and all. The fibre stays full length instead of being cut short.
Retted in the field
The stalks are left out in dew and rain for weeks so the fibre loosens on its own, not in a chemical bath.
Woven in Lyon
Woven on traditional looms in Lyon, then stonewashed rather than chemically softened.
